Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Thank you for all of your support in 2014. With a new album coming out we are very excited with what 2015 brings! Come see a preview of some new tunes and our full line up of guitar, bass, drums, and key this Saturday night in Kitchener! Kick those winter blahs and see you there.

Friday December 5th

I'd like to officially welcome Chad Davis to the band. He is an old friend and one of the first musicians I ever played with! He has joined the band to drum and for general handsomeness. McLoud has been with us on Bass since the CD release of "This Uncertainty" and has stuck around! But this next album is his first time recording with us.

The 3 of us hit the stage on Friday December 5 at The Cameron House in Toronto! Sarah Burton graces the stage at 9 and we come on after. Don't miss our first concert as a new band!

$5 at the door. 9pm.

New Songs and a New Album

I have been waiting a long time to share this! I'm very excited because I have booked our first recording sessions for Album #3!

We start recording on Oct 18 and 19 and are looking at the end of March/early April release. Because my engineer has a mobile studio set up I could record anywhere, I wanted to record somewhere unique and artistic. So the bass, drums, and guitar for this record will be recorded at The Homer Watson House and Gallery in Kitchener, ON.

And for your viewing and listening pleasure get a load of this! 3 new songs and videos! All 3 of these songs will be on the new record recorded with a full band. These are simply a nice preview of what's to come. Enjoy!

A Not Long Enough Weekend

Well I hope everyone had a great August long weekend! Mine consisted of 2 shows and a cottage. Not bad if I do say so myself...which I do.

Friday brought me to the beautiful town of Elora, ON and The Metcalfe. I met some new friends and had a great night. Then it was onto Bobcaygeon on Saturday and Trailfest. What's Trailfest you say? Well it's a yearly event where Jeep enthusiasts get together and drive their souped-up 4x4's through trails and Canadian Sheild and such. I didn't make it onto a trail but I played tunes all day while riders came in and out. They even have games, like the one where you use your Jeep to push a giant beachball into a kiddie pool. Amazing. Thanks for having me!

After the work was through it was further west into the Kawarthas and to a cottage rented with my close friends including McLoud who will be laying down the low notes on the next record. All in all it was a weekend of work, music, good friends, and great scenery. Maybe a few drinks were involved too.

Who else needs a weekend to get over their weekend?

Fireworks and Blue Jays

Well I've just finished a wonderful "staycation" with the one I love and it's good to be back. It was nice to have some time away and spend some time with friends and family!

Day 1 started low key with a binge watch of Orange is the New Black which is highly recommended! Sorry if my writing turns dark and incarcerated-ish.
Day 2 lead us to the Toronto Island and some beach time in the sun. It was my first time since I was very young, like pre-memory young, and it was a relaxing time in and around some beautiful scenery. Were it not for the skyline I couldn't tell I was in a major city. Then we shared a charcuterie with some good friends. It was my first time around the charcuterie board. Too fancy to say, but just delicious enough for these taste buds!
Day 3 saw us venture into the Rogers Cen...ahem.....SkyDome to watch the Blue Jays beat The Milwaukee Brewers in Canada Day red jerseys. Another first came as I watched the dome open for the first time. A 27 minute impressive maneuver! Then the day ended with fireworks and a barbeque back home with some friends and family
Day 4 rounded out the vacation with another day of rest and relaxation, card games, and more TV binge-watching.

A nice little time "away from it all" but I look forward to some great gigs this weekend! See you in Listowel, Cambridge, or London. Check the shows page for all the details

All the best,

A New Website!!

Well it's been a few years and it was time to make things SCHNAZZY again! So I journeyed out into the deep, dark wilderness of the world wide interwebs and wrangled me a new website. So click a few pages, listen to a few tunes and bask in all the schnazziness that is the new home of Jesse Parent Music.

All the best!
